  • Take care in using some words

    Dear brothers and sisters
i would like to draw your attention in using some words

1- Dont try to say (God) instead of Allah because (GOD) is countable noun which means that it could be one or two or three Gods which we dont believe in it ......

2- Also , say Masjid instead of mosque becouse mosques came from the word mosqitue (بعوض
and it came when chirshel said he would get rid of muslims as he killes mosqitues ....

This needs to be rectified dear Insan
god, not God is a counable noun. "God" with a capital "g" is a name; it is equvilant to Allah. However, it is a relatively recent word, for God's name in Christian theology is Jehovah. In Judaism, they try not to associate a specific name with God so they call him "The Supreme Being" instead, although the bible designate Him (Allah) as: Elohim, Yhwh Elohim and Yhwh prounoced as Yahweh, all are Hebrew for God

              ?Did you mean Winston Churchill
I looked and couldn't find an evidence of what you mentioned. "Mosquito" is simply a distorted English pronuncition of Masjid. (Remember that our Egyptian brothers pronounce it Maskid) . I read once that it was the Spanish who invented mosquito for Masjid when the retook Andalucia and that this bit of information is written in a book called: The Idiot's Guide to Islam, a Canadian puplication. I checked the book and read nothing that supports that claim. I wish you all an easy and fruitful Ramadan

                Al-salam alikum,

I agree with brother Moayed... The word God it similar the word "Rab "in Arabic, so I don't think there is any problem with useing this word to refare to Allah (SW)..Ramadan Kareem

                  السلام
I recommand that what Insan said about the word ( masjed ) is True.
I heard once from a friend >>>>>>>( ofcours its not true only because I heard it )

                  But always remember
                  ( وَلاَ يَزَالُونَ يُقَاتِلُونَكُمْ حَتَّىَ يَرُدُّوكُمْ عَن دِينِكُمْ إِنِ اسْتَطَاعُواْ )
And they are doing this in thier own ways whith thier own skills.

And about the word ( God )
We - as muslims - are not allowed to use this word to talk about Allah
But I agree with moayad that - God - is coutable.
but we still can not use it
