The Scenario

As we are aware today, that the western media is dominating the Muslim homes rigorously and thereby changing the ways of thinking of our children and youths, and taking them away from True Islam of Prophet Mohammed (s.a.w.s). Today the media uses several tools to deliver their objectives like Satellite Channels, Internet, Literature, Vocal Propaganda, Education Institutions etc. It is practically near to impossible today to prevent our generations to not to encounter with these media tools. Even if we shut the doors of homes to these propogation modes, the child will seek other means to get on to these.

Amongst these media weapons, the top most destructive media is Satellite/Cable TV after which the next very fast growing media is Internet. Free Huge Space Email services, High Speed download facilitating instantaneous downloads of vulgar content, Dating proposals/offers, Chatting Addictions are all inclining our youths, children primarily towards sexual corruption, consumerism and more and more pseudo desires for acquiring non-essential luxuries of life, thereby making the enemies of Islam more and more powerful economically and morally (by weakening the faith amongst Muslims).

On the other hand, as more and more Muslims get on to the Internet, all their views, thoughts and actions are getting preserved by the carriers like MSN, Yahoo and Google and thus making all our communications accessible in an instant to the enemies of Islam. The availability of free forums is basically to capture the thoughts and movements of the common mass, and recently certain forums were hacked internally by MSN folks with the reason that they were relaying anti Israel and anti American policy messages.

With Internet also having a very high positive portfolio by virtue of which a lot of religious propagation work can be done, and when this religious information (majalis, lectures, elegies etc) is relayed through the servers and services of personals outside the community it poses a very high security risk, as we have seen recently how the western world has reacted to certain TV channels who were exposing the truth. Several web hosting services providers have been pressurized in the recent past to block certain web site. With Live Audio/Video broadcast services now becoming more prominent, whereby strong religious messages could be broadcasted live to every corner of the world, the enemies reaction also increases thereby, and if these live streaming services are provided by the western community, then these services could be stopped at anytime.

Another misguiding media weapon today are news services. The news media is misinterpreting truth and presenting it to world, and hence increasing hatred towards Islam and Muslim by constantly trying to prove Islam as a fundamentalist religion that promotes terrorism to innocent being. By sending constant negative messages, they create a General opinion amongst the common mass on certain subjects, and thus achieve the goals of deviating people from truth. There are sources of authentic news also available on the Internet, but lack of political knowledge to the common mass makes it difficult for the community to discriminate between the correct and forged news.

The solution to these problems does not lie in eliminating these media tools, but it lies in replacing these media tools with similar tools that provides proper Islamic ethical, spiritual and socio political teachings. Instead of a Dating Advertisement popping up on an email window, it could be replaced with a thought provoking saying of our Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) and respected Infallible Imams (a.s). Every parent who has religious inclination and zeal (gairat) would not tolerate their young one's sitting on the Internet and being exposed to vulgar and corrupt content.
