THE GENERAL EVENTS OF THE SHA'ABAN MONTH
Fasting of month of Ramadhan and (Zakaat Al-Fitrah) alms giving on the festival at the end of Ramadhan became obligatory upon Moslems after eighteenth months on the holy migration. This was after changing (Qiblah) direction faced in prayers. The battle of Al-Mariseea (Bani Al-Mustalaq) occurred in the fifth year A.H.. This is because Bani Al-Mustalaq use to descend at their well which is called Al-Mariseea. Their leader Al-Harith bun Abi Dhiraar had already called them to fight the Holy Prophet (may the blessing and peace of Allah be upon him and his pure progeny), they then accept his call and prepared to go with him. The Holy Prophet heard it, then he came out and the battle occurred between them, then ten people were killed and captured the rest of them as he also captured women and children and blessings, such as two thousand camels, five thousand ships and returned back to Madina. The third envoy of the Awaited Imam Al-Hujjatul (may God hasten his glad advent) died at the time of his lesser occultation in year326A.H. and was buried in An-Nubakhtiyah. The reformer scholar Sayyid Jamalul Deen son of Sayyid Safdar Al-Asad Abadi the known as Al-Afghani was born in year1254A.H.. He was one of the great philosophers and the great men of the religion. Shia jurist of his time Sheikh Mohammed Hasan son of Sheikh Baqir An-Najafi author of Al-Jawahir book died in year1266A.H.. He became leader of the sect during the thirteenth century.
