    Lessons from “KATRINA”
Three cities in the south east of the United States had been attacked by the destructive tornado “Katrina” started in 29-8-2005 and caused heavy losses in souls and possessions which were estimated about 100 billion dollars; and the greatest anxiety is from the effects of this tornado which may be diseases and epidemics as a result of corps decay and covering the cities, especially Orleans, with stagnant water as well as delaying the fundamental services.
We felt pity towards what happened to the victims, especially the Negroes and the poor who didn’t have enough money to depart to other cities, or didn’t have relatives to shelter, or they have only these houses. While the rich and the overeaten had found many ways to survive.
This event, which had been considered as the hugest tornado that attacked America, has uncovered many preaching lessons could be made use from:
    1. Infirmity and weakness of those arrogant states (as they regard themselves the sole greatest states on the globe). Truly, the sign in the Holy Koran mentioned them: “The parable of those who took guardians besides Allah is as the parable of the spider that makes for itself a house; and most surely the frailest of the houses is the spider's house did they but know. ”.
These states try to dedicate their domination by the force of weapon not by the power of justice, fair, sublime principles; nevertheless, you see them disable to face this tornado although they know about it in advance since it attacked more than one country on its way. Despite all this, it caused this great destruction with its dangerous consequences which besmirched the reputation of America
    2. The nakedness from morals and humanity that the American leaders are characterized with, because the investigations have shown that the U.S. government was acquainted with the quantity of losses which the tornado would cause. And it was not surprised; but according to its point of view the citizens of this wretched district, who most of them were from the Negroes and the poor, do not deserve spending the due money to protect them from danger. So the government delayed to give the help. This is a dangerous indication about the values and criteria the western civilization believe in, especially its magnificent model “AMERICA”.
3.The weakness of the social component and the torn tissue of the American society, because at the moment the tornado took place and the happenings after it from chaos and absence of authority, the gangs and thieves had spread, crimes happened, avenges towards the white by the Negroes to express grievance, persecution and deprivation by those white people. This condition obliged the government to call for more supporting forces and permitted them to shoot immediately whenever they need.

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

I quite appreciate what the author had to write. Nevertheless, it seems to have come out of a person full with hatred and feelings of prejudice and opression towards others.

First of all, although the response to the unfortunate attack by the US government was quite disappointing, it was solely disappointing because IT WAS THE US GOVERNMENT. This surely doesn’t mean other states could have responded any better.

Secondly, such traumas can indeed be predicted, but their scale is always underestimated and unlooked for. There was no call for the writer to articulate in this area when he clearly lacks the knowledge of meteorology and Earth physiology.

but according to its point of view the citizens of this wretched district, who most of them were from the Negroes and the poor, do not deserve spending the due money to protect them from danger”

I really wonder where the writer got his sources on that particular statement. It’s quite possible he doesn’t realize that of all world governments, the US is most vigilant about maintaining its prestigious image. Leaving the poor solely between the claws of death is a gamble that no government would take, nevermind the USA.

I will not deny that it was distressing to see people looting each other after Katrina. Nevertheless, the exact thing happens all around the world whenever there is a lack of national security.

The US government has quite often exerted prejudice against Arabs and Muslims for the sake of its own interests. We do despise the US government for its bigotry against our people. Nevertheless, there is no call to use such traumas, and sufferings to convey our rage and resentment.

N.B. the use of the word ‘Nigger’ is an extremely offensive way to refer to people of African descent. Associations with the word traditionally have been an institutional contempt, a presumption of inherent inferiority, even of bestiality, making it extremely pejorative and abusive.

    Kind regards,
