The Pill Endoscope

The new M2A Capsule, a "pill endoscope" created by Given Imaging, Ltd., allows physicians to see parts of the small intestines that older conventional methods do not. The M2A, weighing 4 grams, contains a miniature video camera, light source, battery and a transmitter. It is made of a specially sealed biocompatible material that is resistant to the digestive fluids in the GI tract. The camera is capable of viewing objects as small as 0.1 mm. In a normal 8-hour procedure, the capsule generates more than 50,000 images, at a rate of two frames per second. The single-use device is propelled by peristalsis through the GI tract and is naturally excreted. The capsule is contraindicated for use with patients with known or suspected GI obstruction, strictures, or fistulas. It is also contraindicated in patients with cardiac pacemakers or other implanted devices. Today, more than 20,000 capsules have been ingested, with more than half of those in the United States. The M2A has been utilized to diagnose a range of diseases of the small intestine including Crohns Disease, Celiac disease and other malabsorption disorders, benign and malignant tumors of the small intestine, vascular disorders, and medication related small bowel injury

The cost of the system, which includes: single-use M2A Capsule Endoscopes, the Sensor Array, the DataRecorder, and the RAPID computer workstation, is $27,000
Additional capsules costs $450 each, sold in 10-packs

لا يحقُ للطبيب سحب أجهزة طبيهَ وضعت لمريضه المسلم، فبعثت الحركة في قلبه وإن مات المخ، فأصبحت حياة المريض كحياة النبات لا تدوم إلا بعمل تلك الأجهزة، وذلك لأهمية النفس المحترمة في الإسلام.

وعلى الطبيب أن لا يعتني بطلب المريض أو طلب أقربائه بالامتناع عن إسعافه، أما إذا سحب الطبيب تلك الأجهزة فمات المريض المسلم لذلك، عُدَّ الطبيب قاتلا.

Born on 4 March 1678, Antonio Vivaldi, the great musiscian, had asthma all his life. He trained as a priest but had to give up saying mass because the incense exacerbated his symptoms. In later life Vivaldi's asthma got decidedly worse. He was dependent on his family to accompany him everywhere in case he had an attack. He was unable to go on his beloved country rambles and instead was forced to travel in a carriage, occasionally walking a few yards before having to retire to the carriage to get his breath back. إستفتاء طبي من موقع سماحة آية الله العظمى السيستاني دام ظله الوارف

السؤال: حالياً ندرس في المدرسة دروس حول (نقل وغرس الأعضاء البشرية زينو ترانس پلانتس xeno transplants )، فهل يجوز ذلك للمسلم ؟

وهذا ( نقل وغرس الاعضاء ) يعني أن المريض الفاقد للعضو لا يحتاج إلى إهداء عضو إنساني من الآخرين، أو ينتظر للحصول عليه ، بل يمكن الحصول عليه من الخنازير لوجود أعضاء متشابهة .

فهل يوجد في القرآن آية تسمح ذلك ، أو يسمح بأخذها من الحيوانات ؟

الجواب: لا بأس بالترقيع بعضو من أعضاء بدن حيوان نجس العين كالكلب والخنزير وتترتب عليه أحكام بدن الانسان ، وتجوز الصلاة فيه باعتبار طهارته بصيرورته جزءاً من بدن الحي بحلول الحياة فيه .

ما تشخيصك للحالة وما اسم العملية؟

.. أجريت لمستشارة الأمن القومي كوندايزا رايس جراحة لاستئصال ورم غير خبيث في جدار الرحم استغرقت ساعة ونصف ومن دون تخدير وقام بإجرائها جيمس سبايس الذي قام بوقف إمدادات الدم المغذية للورم , والذي يسبب ، لمن تصاب به، نزيفا، وألما، إضافة إلى بعض الأعراض الأخرى.BBC
